Here’s how your body works:
“Look well to the spine for the cause of disease” ~Hippocrates
Your nervous system is the master control system of your body. It is made up of your brain, spinal cord, and spinal nerves (they come off the spine) called peripheral nerves. Your brain is the power source and control center of literally every function in your body. If it dies, you die. Your brain sends 100% of your body’s information and energy down your spinal cord first. Your spine is protected by 24 movable vertebrae (which act like circuit breakers) and the spinal nerves exit between each vertebrae and go out to deliver the messages sent from the brain to each muscle, gland, organ and cell in your body. As long as there is no interference to your brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves, your body has the ability to function at its optimum level… in other words, as close to 100% as possible. We can have interferences at many levels: structural, nutritional/metabolic imbalances, limiting beliefs & emotions, electromagnetic stress, allergies/sensitivities, and toxins. The key to health is to remove all the interferences so your nervous system can function at its full potential.
Here’s how chiropractic works:
Chiropractic care allows your body to function at its highest level, and can prevent problems from developing in the first place. Just like brushing your teeth will prevent tooth decay, maintaining a healthy strong spine will prevent spinal decay. Although its main focus is the relationship between the skeleton (particularly the spine) and the nervous system that runs through it, chiropractic is concerned with the care of the entire body.
Chiropractic is the only healing profession in the world that recognizes that your body has the ability to function at its optimum level, as long as there is no interference to the master control system (the nervous system). A chiropractor’s job is to locate, analyze and remove any interference to the nervous system. These blockages or misalignments are called VERTEBRAL SUBLUXATIONS. When a spinal nerve is being choked because of a vertebral subluxation the muscle, organ, or gland that is attached to it can only receive 40% of the information that the brain is trying to send to it. When a vertebrae is out of alignment (called subluxation) the chiropractor adjusts the vertebrae so that the “power” can be turned back on to the muscle, organ, or gland that it controls. Ultimately, the goal of receiving adjustments should be to restore the body to its natural state of optimal health. The adjustment of the spine is the primary objective of a chiropractor. As well as adjustments to the extremities and other forms of physiological therapeutics including the use of electrical stimulation, ultrasound, traction, neuromuscular reeducation and a variety of manual therapies.
There is more money (Billions) in treating the problem than in preventing it. Unfortunately, symptoms are the last sign your body gives you to tell you that something is wrong. Fact: A cavity usually doesn’t hurt for 2 years. Fact: Cancer usually doesn’t hurt at all, until the end. Fact: 36% of all heart attack victims have their fatal heart attack as their very first symptom.
Is Chiropractic safe?
Yes! Its non-surgical, drug-free approach to health places chiropractic among the safest of all health care practices. Remember, chiropractic takes nothing out of the body and puts nothing in…. as a result, chiropractors enjoy one of the lowest malpractice rates of all health care professionals.
How much education does a Chiropractor have?
Doctors of Chiropractic are well educated. Chiropractic education and medical education are similar in many respects and different in others because chiropractors do not prescribe drugs or perform surgery, and medical doctors do not correct vertebral subluxations. After graduation with a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree, each candidate passes the demanding four part National Board Examinations. A chiropractor must then apply to a governmental or professional licensing board before being granted the privilege to practice. A chiropractor’s education, however, never ends.
